On 23rd January 2024, the University Library of the University of North Bengal orchestrated a memorable Nature Study Tour at Upper Dudhia, coinciding with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's Birthday celebration. The event was meticulously planned to foster a sense of appreciation for nature among the library staff while honouring the remarkable legacy of Netaji. The day commenced with the former library staff member Shyamal Kumar Dey unfurling the national flag as a symbolic gesture to commemorate Netaji's birthday. All attendees gathered to sing the national anthem in a spirit of unity and patriotism, evoking a sense of pride and reverence for the nation and its heroes. The librarian delivered an inspiring inaugural speech, emphasizing the profound significance of Netaji's birthday and urging everyone present to reflect upon his contributions to the nation's struggle for freedom.
