Services for our Users

Checkout the different kinds of services that we are currently providing to our users.


Use Library OPAC (Online Public catalogue) to find books, journal titles, reference books and all of the other resources available in the library.

To borrow books User have to bring their library card along with them. After finding desired books using library OPAC, they can borrow those from Kiosk machine or from the circulation section. There are also guidelines for how many books a user can borrow at a time, to know more about it see the Circulation Rules of the library.

To find out what you have issued from the library and their due dates simply click on the Member Status option. This page will contain a search box where you have to put your Member ID or Member Code and click on the search button which then will show all the details.

The library has different study spaces to suit your study style, whether you need a computer, a quiet study spot. You can find study places located in the ground floor and in the first floor of the library building.

Every year in the new session of University, our University Library organizes orientation programs for the new students to make them acquaintance with the library and its different services for their easy access. For more details see the Recent Activity sections.

We also provide computers and Internet access to our users for online access of information and accessing online journals. for more details on accessing Information Hub see all the instruction below.


  • Users Must submit the library reference card / identity proof before entering information-hub.
  • Users are Not allowed to use any kind of mobile devices.
  • Users are Not allowed to enter information-hub with books (keep them at property counter, ground floor).
  • Users are Not allowed to change any kind of internal or external settings of any computer / terminal.
  • Allowed browsing or downloading only educational or knowledge related materials.
  • Not allowed document typing, painting or sketching on any computer / terminal.
  • Keeping files in any computer / terminal for future use are not allowed.
  • Allowed to take downloaded materials by using e-mail accounts, cloud storages or external storage devices like pen drive, memory cards, CD/DVD, modems etc.
  • Users are Not allowed taking printout of any downloaded document from e-mail accounts / cloud storages or from any kind of external storage devices.
  • Not allowed to take prints of question papers, syllabus, e-books, prospectus, application forms or challans etc.

Books, journals and documents having academic value will be accepted for photocopying and on-line downloaded copy for digital printing. The maximum number of pages to be copied will be 100 only.
The charges will be as follows:--


  1. All charges are inclusive of paper.
  2. Users will pay 50 paise for each impression.
  3. In case of non-member of the University Library the photocopying and digital charge will be Re. 1.00 per impression.

Remote Access Facilities

A remote-access VPN operates by establishing a virtual connection between the Faculty/Research Scholars device of the University of North Bengal and the University's local area network. This tunnel connects to the public internet, but the data sent and received through it is protected by encryption and security protocols, allowing it to remain private and secure.

This service is developed and maintained by CIRM, University of North Bengal.
